Somatic Therapy

What is it?

We offer the somatic modality Hakomi. Hakomi is a mindfulness-based assisted self-study method grounded in five core principles: body-mind holism, mindfulness, non-violence, unity and organicity. Through experiential, present moment, compassionate inner exploration we create the conditions for gentle and deep transformation of unconsciously held limiting beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. One can expect to explore their inner landscape with the profound guidance of our somatic therapist, this is done with the eyes closed. Sessions may include fluid movement which organically arise throughout the clients session.

What are the benefits of Somatic Therapy?

This psychological therapeutic services applies somatics which reveals the communication of the subconscious, this is done by Hannah’s guidance into mindfulness. The client is able to notice how their behavior is shaping their daily life, and the energetic impact on the body. The imprints from childhood experiences, are also worked with as memories expose themselves within the body. The benefits are monumental as we become true inhabitants of our body, and its experience. The relationship with ourselves  deepen, allowing us to listen more deeply. In this modality we continue to work towards a whole self, which requires to meet the fractured wounded parts. There is an opportunity to empower yourself, by attuning to your true needs through the somatic practice. Welcome yourself in!

What can you expect from your Somatic Therapy treatment?

Expect to approach this as a therapeutic service, ideally receiving a somatic session once a month. One can expect organic, and gentle movement if the somatic session surfaces a gesture which needs to be deepened into. This includes dropping into your body with your eyes closed, however sharing what your experience is that day will be important for the session. If you receive massage, acupuncture, and/or reiki this modality serves your awareness of any aches or pains supported by receiving the other services. Wearing comfortable clothing is ideal, however it is not a requirement if time does not allow for it.
